Utilisation suggérée

The amino acid L-glutamine is the single largest component of the amino acid pool and is essential for maintaining a proper nitrogen and pH balance. This Amino L-Glutamine formula provides a high amoung of this non-essential amino acid required for energy production, proper brain function and mental activity.

Glutamine is produced primarily in skeletal muscle and is then released into the circulation. The immune system, gastrointestinal tract, kidneys and liver are the tissue that requires the most glutamine. These tissue obtain glutamine from the blood. It is essential for maintaining a healthy intestinal function, immune response and amino acid homeostasis during time of severe stress, suggesting that it is more appropriately called a "conditionally essential amino acid".

During physical stress the body consumes more glutamine than the skeletal muscle can produce. Progressive muscle breakdown (wasting) can occur as the body tries to meet glutamine requirements. Glutamine enhances the function of stimulated immune cells and affect lymphocyte proliferation, cytokine production, bacterial killing by neutrophils and phagocytic and secretory activities of macrophages. Glutamine is also a precursor for other amino acids; glucose, purines and pyrimidines, glutathione and glutamate which the body makes.

Although the intestinal mucosa can also synthesize glutamine, it is not enough to compensate for the body's needs during severe physiologic stress. Some evidence suggest that glutamine, in addition to serving as a metabolic fuel for enterocytes (intestinal cells), might play a regulatory role in the intestine by affecting cell proliferation and differentiation. The gastrointestinal tract is one of the largest utilizers of glutamine in the body. Depletion of glutamine can result in atrophy, ulceration and necrosis of the intestinal epithelium.

Glutamine improves the health of the intestinal wall and immune cell function and can be a very helpful nutrient for those with multiple food allergies/sensitivites.

The amount of glutamine in this product is well below the safety limits for children.

This supplement could have side effects in children with serious neurological and psychiatric diseases such as autism.
