NOW® B-12 B-Complex Liquid is a unique, balanced B-complex formulation with synergistic vitamin C. NOW® B12 complex is also alcohol-free and vegetarian.
Vitamin B12 is an essential water-soluble vitamin commonly found in a variety of foods such as fish, shellfish, meat, and dairy products, but is deficient in the typical vegetarian diet. B12 helps maintain healthy nerve cells and red blood cells and is also needed to make DNA, the genetic material in all cells. Vitamin B12 is bound to the protein in food. Hydrochloric acid in the stomach releases B12 from protein during digestion. Once released, B12 combines with a substance called intrinsic factor (IF) before it is absorbed into the bloodstream. An inability to absorb vitamin B12 from the intestinal tract can be caused by a disease known as pernicious anemia which is increasingly common among the aging population. Furthermore, strict vegetarians or vegans are also prone to a deficiency state. Studies have also shown that a deficiency of vitamin B12 can lead to abnormal neurologic and psychiatric symptoms.
Directions
Adult Dosage: Shake well before use. Take 1 dropper full or 1/4 teaspoon (1 mL) daily in the morning, hold in mouth for 30 seconds and then swallow.

- Vitamin B6 (from Pyridoxine Hydrochloride) - 2 mg
- Folic Acid (Folate) - 200 mcg
- Vitamin B12 (as Cyanocobalamin) - 1 mg
- Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5) (as D-Calcium Pantothenate) - 30 mg
Non-Medicinal Ingredients: Distilled Water, Vegetable Glycerin, Xylitol, Barley Malt, Malic Acid, Stevia Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Natural Vanilla Flavour, Natural Peppermint Flavour, Ginger Root, Grapefruit Fibre, Cinnamon Bark Oil (Ceylon).
